There is a radical change taking place in today’s recovery landscape. We are now celebrating many different paths to recovery and discovering new possibilities for healing and thriving in every area of life. Recovery is seen as taking place at the level of mind, body and spirit and is becoming increasingly synonymous with health and wellness. This goal of this workshop is to add perspective to this important development.
Dr. Allen Berger, Ph.D. is considered by most the leading authority in understanding emotional sobriety and the important role it plays in recovery. He is the author of two popular recovery mainstays 12 Stupid Things to do that Mess Up Recovery and one of the first books about emotional sobriety, 12 Smart Things to do When the Booze and Drugs are Gone.
I am excited about the program we have created for you. We hope to help you increase your recovery capital. We want you to develop more personal assets that you can bring to bear on optimizing your recovery. Our goal is to help you to identify and remove obstacles that are keeping you stuck and unfulfilled. Recovery is the discovery of new possibilities.
Herb Kaighan received the gift of freedom from alcohol February 21, 1984. In 1988, as the result of the application of the Twelve Steps as contained “precisely” in the AA Big Book, he experienced a profound spiritual awakening. His passion is transmitting the message of recovery and helping others experience the process for a life of personal freedom – providing presentations, workshops, and retreats.
Through the 12 Steps, I not only found freedom from addiction, but more importantly, a specific methodology to navigate life’s speed bumps – a set of very effective shock absorbers! My life has flourished for 36 years. This is available to anyone who earnestly seeks and applies the correct method. I invite you to join us for this powerful workshop.

I am delighted to connect with Herb and Allen for what’s going to be a very powerful workshop bringing together a necessary trinity in the healing of addiction: psychology, spirituality and the embodiment practices of yoga. The paths of yoga and recovery have set me free and I look forward to sharing with you the core practices and experiences that can help you to thrive in recovery and life.
